Mr. Gletty's 8th Grade English

Hello folks, my name is Mr. Gletty! I am an 8th grade ELA teacher for Coal City Middle School as of the 2023 school year. I am 28 and was not always a teacher. Up until 2020 I was in marketing, working a variety of jobs until I landed a benefits management position for a parking company. Before that I worked at a talent agency, did canvasing(worst job), and was even a barista(best job). Surprisingly, for some reason in 2020, nobody needed to park for their flights anymore so it seemed like a good time to rediscover what I wanted to do with my life and I chose something I was passionate about. When I come to my classroom, I am bringing in fresh real world experience for my students so that they can relate what we do to what they may see in their future. I'm a lover of creative writing, old British lit, graphic novels, and horror stories. I look forward to sharing my passion for learning and literature with my students this year!
