Seventh grade math students at Coal City Middle School have been working hard on solving two-step equations by applying the order of operations and integer rules. They worked in groups to solve two-step equations and then applied them to real world situations.
“The students did a great job helping each other by talking about the steps they used to solve each expression. If they didn’t get the same answer, they worked through their differences,” said teacher Andrea Roseland.
Students will continue to expand their math knowledge and skills to solve two-step equations with decimals and fractions.Throughout the year they will continue to increase their algebraic skills through meaningful lessons.
