Inclusivity at CCMS

American Sign Language (ASL) has become a focus within Mrs. Roudis and Miss DeKruiff’s classroom this year. Every morning, students work with our Deaf/Hard of Hearing teacher, Miss DeKruiff, to learn and practice ASL within the classroom. So far, students have learned many different signs, such as numbers, colors, animals and small phrases. Mrs. Roudis and Miss DeKruiff are promoting inclusivity in the classroom and within our school for students with different communication needs. Miss DeKruiff has also formed an ASL club that meets one time per week to give our entire school community the opportunity to practice sign language and communicate with one another.
