Meet Mrs. Sweeney
Hello! I am Tara Sweeney, and I teach 6th grade ELA at Coal City Middle School. I am very excited to begin my 13th year in education, and am honored to be a part of the Coal City School District! As you may already know, the Coal City School District has an exceptional reputation, and I consider it a great privilege to be a part of this learning community! In 2011, I graduated from the University of St. Francis with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. I have also obtained middle school endorsements in the following subject areas: Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Some of my hobbies include: reading, writing, camping, dancing, traveling, and spending time with with my husband and three amazing children: Ryleigh, Brody, and Kaycie Mae. I also have a Yellow Labrador Retriever named Freddy, who is a very special part of our family.
