It’s time to head back-to-school

As students and families enjoy the final days of summer break, Coal City School District faculty and staff are preparing for a brand new academic year. 

 

The first day of student attendance for the 2025-2026 school year is Wednesday, Aug. 13. Schools will operate on the first/last day dismissal schedule that will have students at the Early Childhood Center attending from 7:55 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Elementary School and Intermediate School from 8:10 a.m. to 1:35 p.m., Middle School from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and High School students will report from 8:20 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. 

 

Regular school day start and dismissal times are: Early Childhood Center—7:55 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.; Elementary School and Intermediate School—8:10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Middle School—8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., and High School—8:20 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.

 

Ahead of the first day of school, students and families will have an opportunity to meet their teachers at Back-to-School Nights starting on Tuesday, Aug. 12. 

 

The Early Childhood Center will be open from 3:30-5 p.m.; Elementary School from 4:45-6:15 p.m.and Intermediate School [at the Elementary School] from 6-7:30 p.m. 

 

Coal City Middle School will host its Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 6-7:30 p.m. and students at Coal City High School are invited in on Friday, Aug. 8 to Walk their Schedule between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

 

Faculty and staff are looking forward to seeing students return to their buildings for another exciting year as Coalers.
