The Coal City Theatre Department will close out its season with the annual Broadway Revue performances this weekend.
Broadway Revue will be presented Saturday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 25 at 2 p.m. in the Coal City Performing Arts Center. The show will feature individual and group numbers from some of the students favorite stage shows including “Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Hadestown,” “Alice by Heart,” “The Outsiders,” “The Great Gatsby,” and many others.
Broadway Revue has become an event the students look forward to each year and it’s an opportunity for the graduating seniors to get one last chance to appear on stage together. For some it’s the culmination of nine years of participation in the school’s theatre program.
“To see them on-stage one last time doing what they love is something very special, and I am excited to take that all in,” said Jack Micetich, Coal City Theatre Department’s director.
Members of the class of 2025 taking the stage this weekend are Melody Kinder, Mason Natyshok, Eliana Chernesky and Logan Hausman.
In all, more than 30 theatre students will take the stage this weekend. Also performing are: Mason Hamilton, Wyatt Chase, Gavin Clubb, Maxx Kramer, Jack Steinhouse, Jordan Olson, Brody D’Orazio, Theo Fritz, Austin Harding, Caroline Childers, Gabby VanDuyne, Cora Armstrong, Isabella Palacios, Aubrey Grunwald, Ethan Donnelly, Martin Ramirez, Brady Pierson, Victorya Morales, Lexi Dearth, Charlotte Banks, Anastasia Papach, Evelyn Wills, Julian Micetich, Sam Vota, Olivia Sage, and middle school students Penny D’Arcy, Olivia Ferrari, Emma D’Orazio and Cora Bill.
Broadway Revue serves as a fundraiser for the school’s Drama Club and helps cover the cost of master classes and educational trips to local theaters and New York City.
Reserved seat tickets, $10 per person, are available HERE or at the door—cash only—beginning 30 minutes prior to each performance.
“We hope everyone has an opportunity to join us in the theatre this weekend,” Micetich said.
