Music Honor Society creating opportunities for musicians

Students involved in vocal and instrumental music programs at Coal City Middle and High Schools are eligible to participate in the local chapter of the Illinois Music Honor Society, an organization established and sponsored by the Coal City Music Boosters.

Membership is open to students who complete requirements in musicianship, leadership, citizenship, and scholarship. These students have displayed a dedication to their school’s  music programs and work to extend opportunities to others through service, enrichment and connection with other student musicians.

Music Honor Society members volunteered time to perform at Festival of Trees, and during the most recent meeting they joined together to play holiday handbell music as a fun activity.
