An eighth grade tradition

Students in Ms. Swink’s eighth grade English classes have just wrapped up two weeks of reading the drama The Diary of Anne Frank.  This is a tradition for Coal City eighth graders, and it continues to create fond memories for almost all of the students.  Everyone in Ms. Swink’s class must take a turn to read; however, once a name is drawn from the popsicle sticks, students have a choice of the size of the part that he or she must read.  Some eighth graders have really found their voice while reading their parts and surprise their classmates by wishing aloud that their name is drawn again to read!

Next up for the students is writing their literary analysis essay before spring break.
